Derrick Dao, CEO

Mr. Dao has significant international M&A and capital markets experience in the natural resources sector, having held positions on the investment banking team at J.P. Morgan (Hong Kong) and advisory teams at Rystad Energy (Singapore) and McDaniel (Calgary) advising on transactions across South East Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the United States and Canada.

Mr. Dao is a Professional Engineer of Alberta and graduated from the University of Calgary in 2013. 

Carmelo Marrelli, CFO

Mr. Marrelli holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is qualified as a Chartered Accountant and as a Certified General Accountant in Canada.

In addition to acting as the Corporation’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Marrelli is a principal of Marrelli Support Services Inc., providing services to Canadian public companies, since 2009

Anthony Roodenburg, Director

Mr. Roodenburg has been involved in the creation and financing of early stage ventures, since leaving National Bank Financial in 1991. Mr. Roodenburg founded Greencastle Resources Ltd. (TSXV-VGN) in 1996 and is also the founder and former director of Deveron Corp., one of Canada’s fifty fastest growing companies in 2023 (No.30).

In 2010, as founder and CEO of Seafield Resources Ltd., Mr. Roodenburg lead the project acquisition and financing of a significant gold discovery in Colombia, valued at more than USD$500 million.

Dr. James Pirie, Director

Dr. Pirie is a distinguished exploration geologist and executive having spent much of his career on exploration for a variety of metals and minerals with major companies such as Homestake and Esso Minerals as well as a number of aggressive, Canadian Junior exploration companies.

Dr. Pirie received his doctorate from Queen’s University.

Michael Power, Director

Mr. Power is an esteemed executive with significant capital markets and mining experience. 

He is a Professional Engineer registered in Ontario and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst with 50 years of experience in the mining industry in Canada and worldwide.
